The North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association (NCVMA) donated $10,000 to the Friends of the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. The donor serves as the main sponsor for the Animal Grossology exhibit in the museum.
The NCVMA is a professional veterinarian organization dedicated to animal care in compassionate and quality medicine. They promote excellence in veterinary medicine, provide the quality continuing education programs and serves as an advocate and voice for veterinary medicine in the state.
The contribution from NCVMA is part of High Five Program Grant that opens on Saturday, Oct. 2 and will run through April 24, 2011. It will take a unique and scientific look at disgusting, but essential animal habits.
The NCVMA will distribute $125,000 over a five-year period (2011-2015) to qualified organizations that promote community service in North Carolina and show compassion for not only the people, but also the animals of North Carolina during the High Five Program Grant.
Executive director Claire Holley from the NCVMA said, “The NCVMA is committed to community service as well as compassion and health for the people and animals of North Carolina.” As part High Five Grant Program, they are proud to sponsor this exhibit at North Carolina’s most-visited museum.
The Museum welcomed more than 650,000 visitors, making it the most-visited museum in the stat during fiscal year 2010.
